Parker Hannifin Super Heater
One of the things we at ATS would like to convey to the customer, is the close working relationship between ATS and Third Millenium Engineering. If a test is needed that no one else can perform, come talk to ATS. If we don't currently possess the technology to do the test, we'll come up with a plan and with your approval Third Millenium will design and build a custom solution for you.
The quintessential example of this synergy is the Parker Hannifin project that lead us to create the only 1400 degree superheater in the country.
Parker Hannifin needed to qualify a cable to 1200 degrees. They called every lab in the country, including us, looking for someone who had a super heater capable of hitting 1200 degrees. And at the time we, like every other lab they called, told them we didn't have the capacity to hit those temperatures safely. But we said we could build a super heater to do it if necessary.
Parker Hannifin called us again in a few months. Out of all of the labs in North America we were the only ones who even said we could build it. So they gave us their requirements, and we designed and built them a superheater that hit 1400 degrees. To make it work we had to build it out of high carbon 316 stainless and then heat treat it to prevent cracking.
